01. Basic Chaffle
This is the easiest of them all. You just need 1 egg (a large one) and ½ a cup of shredded mozzarella. All you have to do is follow these steps. First of all plug in the waffle iron and make it heat. Take a small bowl, crack the egg and whisk it until it becomes white. Then add the mozzarella. Stir the mixture with a spoon or a suitable utensil until you make a thick pulp. And do not forget to spray the non-stick spray before you pour the mixture into the waffle iron. The mixture we made can be used to make two chaffles depending on the size of the waffle iron. Pour half of the mixture into the waffle maker and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Do the same with the remaining batter. You can serve these with butter on top and sugar-free syrup. After all, this is diet food. You can also add vanilla or cinnamon to enhance the taste with a different flavour.
02. Keto Pizza Chaffle
This is how you add a touch of your favourite non-dietary food to your favourite dietary food. Here are the ingredients: 1 egg, ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, a pinch of Italian seasoning (your preference), 1 tbsp of sugar-free pizza sauce and more shredded cheese and pepperoni for toppings. Feel free to add the topping of your choice.
Here is how you are going to make it. Preheat the waffle iron. Mix the eggs and the seasoning together to make the batter. Add the shredded mozzarella afterwards. In order to add a crispy element, add 1 tbsp of shredded cheese to the waffle iron before pouring the batter and let it fry a bit. Then pour ½ of the batter into the waffle maker and cook for about 4 minutes (this needs to be crispy and crunchy). Do the same with the remaining half of the batter. Then comes the highlight. Add the cheese and pepperoni or the topping of your choice and microwave for 30 seconds. There! You have Keto Pizza Chaffle!
03. Pumpkin Pie Chaffle (by Mila Clarke Buckley)
This awesome chaffle takes only 10 minutes to cook. All you need is 1 tablespoon of almond flour, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon of Swerve, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, ½ teaspoon of allspice, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, ¼ cup of pumpkin puree and whipped cream or pecans as toppings. The first thing you need to do is preheat the waffle maker. In the meantime take a bowl and put the cracked egg, vanilla extract and the pumpkin puree into it and mix it well. Add baking powder, almond flour, swerve, allspice and cinnamon and whisk it well again. Mozzarella needs to be added last. Remember to prepare shredded mozzarella beforehand. Spray oil in the waffle iron and put the batter. Cook for 10 minutes and check every 5 minutes whether the waffle turned out crunchy enough. Once the cooking is done, you can take the waffle out and serve it with whipped cream or pecans on top.
04. Everything Bagel Chaffles (by Mila Clarke Buckley)
Here’s another easy peasy chaffle recipe for Keto diet lovers and anyone who feels like trying one. Here are the ingredients you need; 1 tbsp of almond flour, 1 large egg, 1 tbsp of baking powder, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, 1 tbsp of everything bagel seasoning, ¼ tbsp of garlic powder and lastly ¼ tbsp of onion powder. Remember that these powders are essential to manage the flavour and texture of the Keto chaffle. The first step is to mix together the egg, almond flour, garlic powder, onion powder and baking powder. After a bit of whisking add everything bagel seasoning which is the signature ingredient in this recipe. After mixing again, add the mozzarella cheese and mix it to become a thick batter. Make sure that you have preheated the waffle iron. Pour the mixture into the waffle maker and cook for 7 minutes. Keep in mind to check from time to time to see whether the chaffle turned crunchy. Once it is golden in colour, take the waffle out and serve. This recipe works better without toppings to preserve the flavour. But if you like, add a topping of your choice and experiment.
